The Rhythm of Your Home

Can you feel the beat of the rhythm in your home?

Spring is here and the chilling days of winter are now behind us. Trees are budding, and flowers are in BLOOM.

This might be the time to switch home decor out seasonally. It certainly was a long and cold winter, and it is time to create a lighter and different mood in our homes; giving a fresh overhaul to prepare for the warmer months.

“Have nothing in your homes that you do not know to be useful or believe to be beautiful.” -William Morris

For many of us, we are in the process of decluttering and spring cleaning. Don't forget to consign with Reused Furniture or donate items in your home that you no longer believe to be useful or beautiful!

Most importantly, turn on some music and have some fun as you create a new rhythm in your home this spring!

Autumn Greetings from Reused Furniture!

Autumn is officially here! Add warmth and spice to your home in simple ways. Bring out your nice, comfy warm throws and welcome guests to your front door with mums and pumpkins! It’s the small touches that go a long way when decorating for autumn.
Look to nature for inspiration!

Reused Furniture has many aged, heirloom pieces with distressed finishes that often remind people of their pasts. We love furniture pieces that have stories to tell! Unique and timeless pieces lend themselves to creative autumn and holiday decorating. Create new memories, while maintaining the integrity and nostalgia of the past! Repurposed and recycled furniture and accessories spark conversations and memories, just like traditional holiday decorations passed down through the generations. By reusing, repainting and refinishing items instead of discarding them, we are also doing a small part to protect the earth, while also creating a space that reflects a unique sense of style.

If you are interested in tips, strategies and ideas for creating celebrations with more meaning and less negative impact on people and Earth, check out the book Celebrate Green written by Corey Colwell-Lipson, Lynn Colwell, and Jeff Duckworth. In home consulting notes with Zip from ReUsed:
Note:  Family Home Gallery-Gather all of your old family pictures (old and new)and create a grouping. This can be in a hallway, loft, basement. Use all different frames (shapes, sizes and colors) or make them uniform.

Note:  Mom's Old Table-Repurpose at ReUsed and let it gather cash instead of dust! Send us a picture and we will let you know the value and terms of the contract.

Note:  Grandma's Hope Chest-Let's take it to ReUsed and give it a new look with some paint and new hardware.

For the love of turquoise!

We think a pop of turquoise in a room is oh so lovely! Robin's egg blue is always a classic as well. Instant drama! BAM!

Consulting with Zip at ReUsed Furniture

A one hour consultation with Zip from Reused can do wonders!

It's HOT outside! So, let's stay in our homes and reinvent, repurpose and recycle or upcycle! With a  notebook and a cold drink...

Reused consultation question #1
Where is your stuff? Let me see your stuff! Let's check out the attic, basement; all the rooms in your house. Let's work with what you already have. Repurposing what you already have is a great place to begin.  Using what we already have and making it better is the ReUsed attitude. We love to recycle and upcycle too!

Great resources...

Sanctuary for baby and parents by Reused Furniture...

Baby nursery decor ideas....
Decorating a baby nursery can be accomplished by using a combination of new and used! Vintage, shabby chic, bohemian, country french, modern...whatever your style preference might be; start looking at flea markets, thrift stores and consignment shops.Combining modern and antique furniture can add interest and visual stimulation, plus it will eliminate the baby's room from looking too themed. Sometimes themed nurseries end up looking a little overdone and generic. Showroom nurseries often lack personalization, craft and coziness. Some of the most unique and creative nurseries are created by purchasing items from your local consignment, thrift shops, and flea markets. Also, a whimsical and one of a kind nursery can easily be created on a dime by sprucing up furniture with new paint color, distressing, or by adding favorite fabrics. Old chandeliers can be painted and made to customize the space.  Changing tables can be made from chest of drawers and buffets.
Inspiration and ideas...

Think outside of the box with Reused Furniture and design a unique, eclectic and inviting sanctuary for baby and parents!
